  • Glencoe Literature is a comprehensive literature series covering grades 6–12 and World Literature. Grades 9 and 10 are organized into genre units subdivided into groups of selections sharing a common thematic Big Idea. American Literature (Grade 11) and British Literature (Grade 12) are organized into chronological units also subdivided into a series of Big Ideas. World Literature is organized into units and parts presenting historical cultures that are also subdivided into thematic Big Ideas.

  • Glencoe Literature Launchers Pre-Reading Videos are a series of DVDs designed to be viewed by students before beginning a literary selection, historical period, or regional culture. These videos provide a variety of functions, including stimulating students’ interest and providing visual and historical context for specific works, periods, and cultures.

  • Developed for EMC Publishing, the Mirrors & Windows texts are intended for students in Grades 6–8. The literature in each grade-level text is organized into eight units that cover key genres and also share a common theme. The three-step instructional pattern is based on the gradual release approach, which begins by introducing students to a model and taking them through heavily structured guided reading selections and concludes in unstructured independent reading selections.

  • Developed for McDougal Littell, Nextext Anthologies are wide-ranging collections of literature developed for use in literature and humanities classes. Titles include Classical and World Mythology and Multicultural Literature (for Grades 6–8), American Short Stories and Introduction to Shakespeare (for Grades 9–12), and American Studies and World Traditions in the Humanities (for interdisciplinary courses).

  • Developed for McDougal Littell, Nextext Literary Readers are designed to supplement standard literature anthologies or to serve as core texts for elective courses with a more specific focus. Titles include The Harlem Renaissance, Women's Voices, Latino Writers in the U.S., and Asian American Writers. Each collection includes fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama by both famous and lesser-known writers.

  • Developed for McDougal Littell and designed to provide high-interest adaptations of classic literary works for less-proficient readers, Nextext Classic Retellings covering core literature from The Odyssey and Macbeth to The Call of the Wild and The Tales of O. Henry. These retellings use accessible language and provide support for vocabulary, themes, plot, and characters.

  • Developed for The Learning Institute, these novel guides support a series of Core Literacy Texts of classic literary works organized into groups for Grades 3–12. The titles range from The Magic School Bus (at Grade 3) through Twelve Angry Men (at Grade 8) to King Lear. Standards-based and organized around an essential question, each novel guide teaches academic and key selection vocabulary, literary elements, reading comprehension, and informal and academic writing skills.
