  • Developed for English Language Learners at Grades 5–12, Great Source’s ACCESS Science presents accessible lessons that cover the big ideas in life, earth, and physical science. Using standards-based, sheltered instruction and a highly visual approach to support different levels of proficiency, ACCESS Science prepares students for state language and science assessments.

  • CICS ACT Practice: Science was developed in conjunction with Chicago International Charter School (CICS) to give students experience of the ACT Reading test and the type of questions they will encounter. Designed to be administered throughout the year, the 36 practice tests in the book use both literary narratives and informational passages at different levels of difficulty to review topics in biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, and space science.

  • Designed to build science concepts for Grades K–6, Wright Group's Content Essentials for Science combines standards-based science content and nonfiction literacy instruction. Appropriate for any science and language arts curricula, the program is effective with ELL and at-risk students. Content Essentials for Science includes a technology component that provides animation, activities, photo libraries, visual dictionaries, and video on science concepts.

  • Developed for National Geographic School Publishing, the titles in the Reading Expeditions Science series are content-area readers for students at Grades 3–5. Students are introduced to science concepts and gain experience of nonfiction text features, graphic elements, organizational patterns, and genres. Titles include Finding the First Vaccines, Discovering Radioactivity, and Uncovering the Structure of DNA.
